Research shows that when you love yo’ self you have more self-compassion. What happens when you have compassion for yourself in love and relationships? You don’t stand for bullshit – and then some! So let’s make life decisions based on our self-interest. When confronting a choice, ask yourself, “Is this love what’s best for me?” Or “Is this love depleting me or filling my wants and needs?” You can fill the “love” with just about anything, really. Job, family members, addiction, habit: no matter what the it is, it is pertinent that you stop, take a breath, tune into your intuition, and ask yourself what is best for you. That’s how you show yourself compassion.
It’s that simple. Nory Pouncil says at much on episode 67 of Love Sujeiry: Talk Served Raw. Basing decisions on our self-interest isn’t selfish at all, explains Nory. In fact, it would make the world a better place if we stop trying to please others and, instead, do what we feel is best for us in all aspects of life.
