I was very lucky to get pregnant right away. Like LeBron James on a basketball court, it only took one shot! I imagine Boo’s sperm did something like this in my uterus.
Yes, I just referenced basketball. I’m practicing for my baby boy’s arrival in case he’s into sports. Or enjoys throwing baby powder in my face.
Again, I am fortunate. You can read how much in this post. But, not all couples have it easy when trying to make a baby. In fact, I know a slew of women that have struggled and have gone through IVF, hormone shots and even surrogacy just to be parents. Many women talk to me about their love, dating and relationship woes; now that I am pregnant women who struggle with fertility are confiding in me as well.
I am honored as many women suffer in silence. They won’t share their heartache with many, and when they do, their desire to have children is minimized. They’re giving a pep talk or unsolicited advice, but little support.
So, let’s do better when talking to women who struggle with fertility. Aspire Fertility, the first and only group of fertility centers in Houston and Dallas, advices us on what not to say when a woman is struggling to get pregnant.
It’ll happen naturally.
