This will be Evan’s first Christmas. It will also be the first holiday that I spend with my mother, sister, baby boy and fiancé in my mother’s new home in South Carolina. Times are a-changing! But no matter where we celebrate a few things remain the same: that’s tasty pernil, love of family and holiday prep.
Usually I throw on a hot dress and pair it with heels and a bright lip. My family likes to look good while guzzling coquito. Yes, we are those Latinos that look like we’re hitting the club and not my mother’s living room during the holidays. This year, however, my holiday journey involves a baby. It’s not all about me anymore – waaaah! Kidding. Sort of.
Needless to say, I will break a sweat traveling with Evan for the first time. He’s never been on a plane. How will he react? Plus, I have to wash and pack all his baby gear.
Evan has never been away from home for more than 3 days. I’m worked up just thinking about all I have to do, and that’s no good for my sweat glands. I perspire, folks. I’m talking about armpit sweat. No matter what the season or how cold the weather my pits stain my clothes!
Thing is I’m not staying home. And I’m definitely dancing a merengue ripao on a full stomach. To give me the confidence that I need to rock my tight green dress (the tighter the dress, the more I sweat) I’m using Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant. This product goes on easily and instantly. Because it’s dry while moisturizing it doesn’t stain and keeps wetness and odor at bay for up to 48 hours. That’s an entire day of travel with baby – and then some.
Ok, I’m excited again. Yaaaas, #ShakeSprayGo! My nerves have actually subsided. Dave and I will travel successfully with Evan and I will look gorge while doing so. Now it’s time to spread the news. Mami also has issues with armpit sweat. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Or in our case, the coconut.
