Movie goers weren’t interested in a story of a woman who sexually harasses and assaults a man.
Their disinterest was expected. Most people think it proposperous that a man would turn down a woman’s sexual advances, especially someone as attractive as Demi Moore. As society suggests, men love sex. No matter what their relationship status, they never turn down the pepa.
Wrong and wrong. And this story proves just that.
Just recently, on October 14th, three women from Harare, Zimbabwe were charged with aggravated indecent assault. Over the past two years, these women allegedly raped hitchhikers. 17 men positively identified the women while police found 33 condoms containing semen in the women’s car. How did the rapes occur? The women would offer the men a drink that was laced or the men were forced at gunpoint.
And that’s why, at 18 years old, I sat alone by the aisle seat, munching on a small tub of popcorn, watching Disclosure. I wanted to learn about it. Understand it. See it from a different perspective.
Because harassment is harassment, no matter what color, gender, or level of hotness.
