DECEMBER 25 – PHOTO: A present to yourself. Sift through all the photos of you from the past year. Choose one that best captures you; either who you are, or who you strive to be. Find the shot of you that is worth a thousand words. Share the image, who shot it, where, and what it best reveals about you.
I have so many photos that capture me but the one above really does say it all. I have a natural exuberance, silliness, and innocence that is infectious. I love to have fun and am passionate and intense. This photo pretty much say it all.
Who shot it? I believe it was my cousin Dileyka. She takes good photos and always catching me being me! We were at my moms house celebrating Thanksgiving. The photo is two years old but captures me as I am now so I’m bending the rules and using it.
DECEMBER 26 – SOUL FOOD: What did you eat this year that you will never forget? What went into your mouth & touched your soul?
I’m not a big foodie but I do love chocolate and Dominican cake de tres leche. I had the best tres leche cake this year at a birthday party. I believe I had two servings of it. Scrumptious, moist, sweet, and a reminder of why I love my culture. I’m still licking my fingers!
As for dinner, matame con chicken wings and french fries! Oh, and I make a killer lasagna. On that note, I’m going to go eat! Ok, one more 🙂
DECEMBER 27 – ORDINARY JOY: Our most profound joy is often experienced during ordinary moments. What was one of your most joyful ordinary moments this year?
I don’t recall one specific moment but I do enjoy snuggling in my bed, watching reality television. A glass of Riesling is nice or my homemade yummy hot chocolate. Those simple, quiet moments are the ones that I enjoy. Without them I wouldn’t be able to recharge and have positive energy.
