The Reverb 10 is an annual event and online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next.” First thing to do is use the prompts that the Reverb 10 website dictates. There are prompts for each day of December 2010. This is my post for December 6th, 2010!
What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it?
First thing that came to mind was my vision board, but then I wondered: does writing count as making something? When we write, we create. And since I write every day I’m a making stuff genius! Below are the materials used:
Writing Stuff Materials:
- A laptop
- My relationship experiences
- My fabulous imagination
- My silliness/kookiness/sense of humor
- My fingers to type away at my keyboard
- The delete button to erase the crappy shit I write
- My grammatical skillz!!!
- My shelf/work space
- My ottoman to sit on. Otherwise, I’ll work on my bed and take naps mid-sentence.
- My brain!!!!
Aside from writing, I also recently created my vision board. Yes, I redid it. Yes, this is my 20th vision board this year. What can I say? I’m indecisive! Or maybe I’m just addicted to making vision boards. (Blame O Magazine. Oprah’s articles on vision boards make my boards look like child play.) Here are the materials I used for my new and improved vision board, which I made last week!
Perfecting My Vision Board for the 20th Time Materials:
- Mechanical pencil
- An artist pad (cause I’m an artist)
- Positive intent!
- Clear goals!
- Colored pencils
- Privacy (I lock my door so my momma doesn’t ruin my visualizing skills with her momma nagging!)
Now as to what I want to create in 2011. That’s to finish Love Trips (the book). I also want to learn to knit so I can make hats and really long socks to give to my brother for Christmas as a gag gift. I prank him every time 🙂
