In NYC, temperatures are creeping down the thermometer. That only means one things; summer will leave us soon. So I did the most reasonable thing – take my maxi dresses out of storage, where they’ve lived since February 1st. They are now in my closet. There are about three dozen of them. I plan to have at least three wardrobe changes daily until it’s so cold my nipples get hard even when wearing a bra.
Another thing to do before winter crushes my spirit – have a BBQ! And I’m not talking about a BBQ on the block. Dudes still grill on the corner in 60 degree weather. This BBQ is official. It’s in a house. With a yard. In Long Island. I’m moving on up, y’all!
It’s also my very first BBQ. I’ve hosted many shindigs before (mostly house parties) but that was in my 20s. Now that I’m grown and sexy I need to step up my game. No more throwing back draaaanks and rubbing my butt on a dude’s crotch. Unless it’s my boyfriend’s. Today I’m hosting an awesome summer BBQ, and that equates to winning!
Now, without further ado, here’s how I’m going to be the hostess with the mostest and plan the best summer BBQ.
Make a Signature Drink
Now that I'm older, I don't need to take or serve shots. But I do need to get my buzz on and help others do the same...responsibly. So I suggest making a signature drink. A great one for summer is the Pink Lemonade Cocktail. The ingredients: vodka, Corona (or any light beer), and pink lemonade. It sounds like an odd mix but the Pink Lemonade Cocktail is so refreshing; it's perfect for summer. Make it, serve and drink it in a red Solo cup. Pinkies up to class it up. And that is all! Well, aside from advance planning, tables and chairs, and of course, great company, you are all set to have the best BBQ of the summer. Enjoy. Drink responsibly. Kiss the cook if he’s single. And don’t trash that fancy house or you’ll end up grilling on the block next summer.
