About once a week, I receive an email from The Secret Daily Scrolls. Their motivational messages land in my Inbox, and, at times, remain there, unread. Other times I skim over the meaning, the symbolism, and move them into a folder, which I so eloquently labeled “BELIEVE.” It is there that inspiring emails and notes are buried.
This past Monday, however, my process changed. Since creating my action plan, I have been very aware of how I use my time and the bad habits I need to break in order to achieve my goals. Laying in bed for hours is one of them. As is getting on my phone as soon I open my eyes to my to play Words With Friends or scan Hootsuite. I shouldn’t take the first hour of my day to play a game or Tweet. I should rise and shine, shower, eat breakfast, and handle my writing and social media business. Still, as much as I convince myself that I will change my ways, I talk myself out of it.
It begins with the snooze button.
However, I am learning. I am a work in progress like so many others. This past Mondays message reassured me of this and much more:
“If you have a habit you wish to break, or anything negative you wish to remove from your life, you must focus on what you want.”
Focus on what I want. Not what I do wrong or my imperfections, but what I desire. Since receiving this boost of faith, I have done very well with my discipline and focus. Much work and planning is getting done, and so many of my dreams, the ones I have visualized that I felt were intangible, are at my fingertips, becoming a reality. Every day I receive exciting news about a new opportunity that will boost my readership and businesses presence. Every day I receive a new email where people are willing to pay for my editorial services.
I am so very grateful. My heart is singing.
As for the Daily Scroll, I will continue to receive them every Monday. I will open my heart to their message instead of burying them in “BELIEVE.” It is what I must do to change my bad habits and live the life I am meant to live.
