They say it takes 30 days to break a habit. It seems I am shooting for 120.
I have been honest about my troubles with sleep. As in I sleep way too much and fall asleep and wake up way too late. There was a time that I thought I was a vampire. Or maybe that was my addiction to “The Vampire Diaries.”
I love you Damon Salvatore!
Last night, I think I found my stride. I forced myself to turn off my addiction (television) by 11:50pm. After watching GCB on ABC, I slapped my hand away from the remote control. Is Basketball Wives on today? I thought. What haven’t I watched On Demand? I questioned. Q’Viva is so good! I convinced. Still, I stuck to my promise. I twisted the cap off the bottle that held my sleeping cure – melatonin pills. These natural pills help stabilize funky sleeping patterns. They’ve helped in the past. I took half (I’m tiny and one pill will knock me out for two days), turned off the light and slept like a baby.
Today, I woke up at 10am. Not bad considering I had woken up at 11am all last week. I also hit snooze about a million times. I just need those 10 hours of sleep, with or without that melatonin pill. Maybe I’m a vampire after all.
I’m coming Damon Salvatore!
