In four days, I will take an American Airlines flight and land in the Golden State. I was 16 the first and last time I visited California. I stayed in a small one family home in East L.A with my friend and her very Mexican family. Mariachi music played non stop and I even learned how to dance La Quebradita.
It was difficult to dance on the off beat.
This time I am visiting San Diego. This time I am staying in a hotel room with a strong and ambitious Mexicana that, although I’ve never met, strikes me as a fabulous mujer. We are both attending BlogHer 2011, and, as I write this, my mind is swirling with all the things to do that I must do before Thursday. One thing to tackle is a new wardrobe. I wanted threads that would impress and represent me as a creative professional. And so I went shopping!
Below are some of the item’s I’ve purchased thus far.
I also created a minizine, which is a small magazine style business card. This is the how to video via The Crafty Chica!
And this is my finished product!
I love how it represents every aspect of my creativity and my personality. As for the clothes, I will be taking photos of my hotness as BlogHer 2011 as well as all of the beautiful people I meet and California sights. Who knows what’s in store, but I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity. I am ready to walk through that open door and live as a creative professional full time.
*Special kudos for my sister who helped me with Power Point. I almost broke the screen. Love you!
