Last Tuesday, I began a new routine. Set to take advantage of my new unemployed status, I set a goal to wake up at 9am in order to create all day. Seems easy enough but waking up early has been a challenge in the past, particularly when I don’t have to adhere to someones schedule. I get bursts of energy at sundown while motivation evades me at sunrise.
Now, I am trying to change. As I age I must grow, or else, what is the point? I am now my own boss. My income depends on me. Financial stability lies on my smarts, diligence, talent and efficiency. And so I must succeed.
This I know for sure.
Luckily, the Universe continues to support my journey. Opportunity continues to knock and I continue to fling open the door. Reminders appear without request and in places that others may not notice. Take a movie, for example. This past Wednesday I watched Warrior and noticed a quote that was written on a white board. The camera did not focus on this quote. As a matter a fact, the words were slightly blurred behind the head of one of the characters as he reasoned with the main character of the movie.
“He who controls the pace, controls the victory.”
I pulled out my iPhone and typed it into a DocsToGo document.
The message struck me as our success is really up to us. How hard we work, how fast we move, how organized and strategic we become, how willing we are to learn and grow: it all leads to fulfillment.
I set the routine.
I set the intention.
I set the pace.
And it will lead to victory.
