Whenever I put extra meat on my bones, a tia or prima would look at me, glance at my behind and say, “Estas enamorada?!” No, I’m just eating a lot! I’d shoot back. However, we’ve all heard that people gain weight when they are in love. That’s because we feel secure in our relationship and stop trying to look our best like when we are single. Rather than work out, coupled up folks rather eat out, or watch a movie on the couch with a bag of chips.
However, a new study revealed that falling in love actually helps us (particularly men) lose weight. And you can thank oxytocin, a hormone that is released in the brain whenever we participate in enjoyable activities, like sex, making out and cuddling. When we are head over heels oxytocin suppresses our appetite. The term “love handles” is so confused right now!
So, if you want to get bikini ready, or want to shed pounds to be healthier, love may just be the answer.
