Norma spoke and I felt like she’d thrown a bucket of water all over me. The barajas were laid out in front of her and she was actually revealing good things? I shook my head in disbelief as she promised triumph in career and love. In the past, I was told that I needed to cut off a chicken’s head or bathe in honey to release the negative blockage. But not this time.
“There’s a white man…you haven’t met him yet,” she said while staring at the cards.
“Really?” I asked curiously.
“He will treat you right. But it will be up to you if you want to pursue it.”
I nodded and waited for the rest.
“There’s another guy. Latino. You’ve known him a few years. He really cares about you and is always thinking about you,” Norma paused and I wondered if she spoke of Mr. G. “Oh…he’s in a relationship,” she went on. Yup, it was him. I braced myself for the worst, waiting for Norma to tell me Mr. G was a liar and a cheat. But instead, she asked me for his name and dedicated an entire spread to him and I. She continued to reveal facts about his relationship and literally dictated everything he had expressed throughout the course of our friendship and brief romance.
“He hasn’t lied to you. You may not believe him anymore but he is ending his relationship and he does want to be with you,” Norma stated while picking up the colorful cards. I shook my head in disbelief.
“But we haven’t spoken in months,” I stated, shocked.
“He’s going to call you,” Norma stated matter-a-factly before putting away the cards. “You want to be with him.” I nodded my head in agreement. “Then you’re going to have to wait.” And there it was – more cold water to shock me into an unfamiliar reality. She was right. I was going to have to wait. The problem was I didn’t know how or if had any more patience or fight left in me. And that was something no psychic could ever help me overcome. I was on my own.
