Since becoming pregnant I’ve also become a horny devil. It takes all my might not to jump Boo’s bones on a consistent basis. I mean, the man does have to work!
I’m hoping that my crazy sexual appetite remains after our baby is born. Time and again I hear moms state that they just aren’t into sex anymore. That’s a scary thought as sex is an essential part of a relationship. Without it you’re just companions. As much as I love hanging out with Boo, I also love banging him.
Sex also helps fend off divorce due the release of oxytocin – a “love hormone” that increases sexual pleasure and helps couples bond. Oxytocin also enters a pregnant woman’s bloodstream during their first trimester, after birth and during breastfeeding, building a bond between momma and baby. Which explains why I’m so horny all the time. However, this isn’t the case for all pregnant women; according to a recent study, women can have less oxytocin during their first trimesters and weeks after labor. And these women are more likely to divorce their spouses years later.
Is there any way to fix this? Of course. If you’re pregnant or just gave birth, you can boost your oxytocin level by participating in daily activities that bring you joy, like hugging, touching and singing at home with your partner in your PJ’s. Boo and I do the latter often. And then I want to jump his bones. Hello oxytocin!
