Ay Love!

Why Sex Once a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

Jump on your man and ride him like a cowgirl! Cause there’s health benefits to sex.

For many, sex once a day would be ideal but unrealistic. Still, a consistent sex life offers many health benefits. This doesn’t only apply to those in monogamous relationships. Singles, if you have a healthy sexual appetite, make sure it’s fed! So strap on that jimmy hat and let’s go!

Up and down, burn those calories to the ground.

Okay, so this one should be obvious. However, if you’re not breaking a little sweat when you’re getting wet, you or your sex buddy might not be werking it hard enough. Beads of sweat should form on his back and your breasts (or anywhere for that matter). That’s when you burn calories during sex. This is similar to a cardio workout, so if going to the gym is a big bore boost that sex drive and become firmer when under the sheets.

PLUS: So You Had Sex on a First Date…Now What?

You don’t even have to go at it all night to burn a good amount of calories; 30-minutes of pleasure is all you need as it burns 85 calories. And ladies, if you want a firmer belly, ride that man like he’s an untamed stallion. You will soon see those love handles disappear. Besides, I’m sure he won’t mind you trading in the treadmill for his joystick.

Feeling stressed? Jump in bed.

Lots of people feel stress due to work and the every day hustle and bustle of life.  There’s nothing like a great orgasm to ease your mind from daily woes. Many studies have found that sex can lower blood pressure, thus relieving stress and helping us power-through stressful situations. We also feel super relaxed after sex due to the endorphin’s released during intercourse and the side affects of sexual stimulation. So jump up on it ladies! You’ll be doing you and your man a world of good. From a good hug to a sexy rub down and an amazing orgasm, sex is a great way to relieve stress.

Sex twice a week builds immunity.

If you have sex once or twice a week, you may have higher levels of an antibody called immunoglobulin A or IgA. This antibody protects you from getting colds and other types of infections. So, if you’re like me and don’t like taking vitamins, a healthy and fun alternative is getting your groove on weekly. If you do, the winter weather will not threaten you with obnoxious sniffles and yucky coughs. Instead, you’ll be panting in the bedroom and building your immunity all in one! I highly doubt any cold meds or vitamins can compete.

Being sexually active can help you live heart-healthy.

America is facing an epidemic of obesity. Heart attacks are on the rise as well as new cases of diabetes. Fortunately, you can prevent these sometimes fatal health problems by engaging in a healthy sex life. Studies have found that having sex twice or more a week can reduce the risk of fatal heart attacks and health issues leading up to it. This goes for older folks too! If you are over the age of 50, don’t think that your sex life has to dwindle. Rev it up!

Live out your sexual fantasies and boost your self-esteem.

Good sex can also help build self-esteem. I’m not talking about senseless sexual encounters, but the kind of sex that is intimate, passionate and on-fire! While your partner rubs, sucks and licks you from head-to-toe, he or she is also helping to boost your self-esteem in more ways than one. After a night of passionate sex, ask yourself: do I feel like a superstar? Probably. You can thank that sexual feeling for giving you a natural high all day long.

The health benefits of sex don’t stop there. Some studies show that consistent sex can reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men and can also reduce pain in both men and women, particularly menstrual cramps. Great sex can improve sleep as well as strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and improve overall intimacy. The reasons to add more sex into your life are endless, and I’ve given you several points to work with. So have fun, be creative and live a long and healthy sex-filled life!
