Sometimes seeing double isn’t all that bad. Unless we’re talking monsters under the bed. Or double vision due to double fisting (drinks, people, drinks!). But, when it comes to dating, who doesn’t like seeing double the eye candy when out and about?
I’m talking double dating here, folks.
A recent study from Wayne State University said that double dating is just what the doctor ordered if you’re having trouble in paradise. 60 couples were partnered at random with other couples. One set was given high disclosure content and the other was given some small talk. The study revealed that the couples with the more risque questions contacted each other within the next month and became friends. The couple that chatted about the weather and such never heard from each other again.
As for how double dating affected their own relationship, couples formed better and closer relationships with each other.
Looks like the other couples gave them some pointers and confidence. Think about it. When you spend time with other couples, you note interactions, learn different ways to engage and communicate, and even gain a better understanding of coupledom. So, grab a friend and drag your partners along for a double date. It may just save your relationship.
