Don’t Catch Feelings! The Right Way to Have Casual Sex

You’re having casual sex and start feeling things. Don’t do it! Instead read our advice.

Having casual sex is all the rage for both males and females. It is another way to explore our sexuality. Also, unlike a one-night stand,  casual sex reoccurs with the same person, and can be very rewarding depending on how you approach it. How else will you be able to figure out what you like, how you like it, and begin to prepare for a real relationship?

However, you must be careful when partaking in casual sex as romantic feelings and feelings of jealousy can develop. That’s why you must know what you want from that person. You should also be honest about where you both stand in each other’s lives in order to avoid complications.

How can you avoid this? How can you have amazing casual sex and not catch feelings? Here is some advice:

Choose partners who aren’t too close to you and try to stay away from complete strangers. It is usually more comfortable when you are having casual sex with a friend, but not a best friend. Having casual sex with someone you already know and trust is ideal. Try to go for the friends you won’t think about all the time, but you still know what to expect.

Always be upfront about the situation, feelings, and expectations. Honesty is what will keep a casual relationship stable and fun. The honesty will come naturally as you both already somewhat trust each other.

Just because you aren’t willing to fall for them doesn’t mean you should be rude or disrespectful. Treat them how you want them to treat you. When you are no longer interested in being involved with them you need to tell them, do not leave them hanging. Don’t ignore text messages or stand them up just because there’s no pressure.

You should not stay over for more than one night at a time. Adult sleepovers are fun and morning wood can be a great alternative to breakfast, but that’s about it. There is nothing casual about hanging out at his apartment for over two days. Also, don’t leave a trail of your items. It’s normal to accidentally leave a pair of panties at their house, but not an entire outfit.

When it’s done, it’s done. You must be willing to walk away. Keep your feelings intact. If you start to fall for the person, you can either be honest with them and discuss it, or stay true to the initial agreement and end the causalities completely. In this type of relationship, when things go from casual to personal, it just isn’t as fun anymore.
