Your man rolls over to his side and you feel a little poke coming through. He rubs your back and whispers in your ear, “You wanna have morning sex?” Most women will shake his hand off and moan, “I’m sleeping!” Others may even inch their way away from his alert penis. Morning sex is just not something they have the energy for, or they have little desire to get it on before breakfast.
I, on the other hand, am an advocate for morning sex. There’s something about that morning romp that wakes me up (literally) and arouses me. It’s like I have morning wood without the wood.
It’s also a very intimate experience. You turn to your lover and kiss despite your bad morning breath. You roll around naked even though you haven’t showered. With crust in your eyes, you make love in the daylight. Then there’s biology. When we have sex, we release the chemical oxytocin. If you do it in the morning, Debby Herbenick, Ph.D., author of Because It Feels Good , says the morning sex will bond couples all day.
There are also health benefits to morning sex. It is said that it strengthens the immune system, as it enhances levels of IgA, an antibody that protects against infection. Bonus points if you have an orgasm: the chemicals released when climaxing boost levels of estrogen. Estrogen just so happens to be a great hormone that improves our skin and hair.
So, the next time your man wakes you up with a boner, say yes and give him some pepa. You’ll not only feel connected throughout the day but you’ll also look radiant after a good lay.
