UPDATE: We did it! And here is the proof that I went into sub-zero degree waters. I’m the one in the white fedora!
Often, when I shower, the water’s temperature goes from hot to cold. It’s usually because someone flushed the toilet or turned on the faucet. But sometimes it happens without warning. I’ll be under the hot, soothing water. Inhaling the steam and relaxing under the water pressure. And BAM! Cold water rushes out and freezes my pelitos and nipples! I shiver uncontrollably, turning the knob to the left to find comfort in the warmth once again. As I wait for the water to heat, I feel like I’m dying! I wrap my arms around my naked body as my teeth chatter.
This is how much I hate being cold.
My body just cannot take it. Yet, on March 3, 2012, I will partake in the Polar Bear Plunge with Team #WOW. As in WOW, what the hell are we doing in this icy water?! It’s crazy. It’s madness. But it is also for great cause.
All proceeds raised from the Polar Bear Plunge go to The Special Olympics. The Special Olympics New York has over 51,000 athletes that train and compete year-round in 22 sports. Because the athletes are never charged to participate, they hope that locas like Team #WOW venture into icy water and freeze our nargas off. For only one athlete, it costs $400 to support training and competition.
I think that’s worth my pepa falling off.
So, please support Team #WOW by DONATING A LITTLE SOMETHING! If you need any more incentive, imagine the hot ladies that compromise Team #WOW donning biking, UGGS from Payless Shoe Store and chugging bottles of Patron.
