What Happened When He Wore a Romper in Washington Heights
Fashion can be a friend or foe. Maxi dresses: friend. Ruffles: friend. Vinyl material: foe. And Jelly shoes…oh, Jelly’s are my nemesis.
I walk just 1 mile in Jelly’s and my feet not only sweat, but they’re also filled with ampollas (blisters, for my non-Spanish speaking friends). Once I get home I’m ready to throw my Jelly’s in a fire pit so they burn, Jelly, burn!
Another fashion foe: male rompers. It’s a ridiculous summer trend. The worst. Or…is it? In this video, a brave man puts on a jean male romper, which he left it unbuttoned to show off his hairless chest, and roamed the streets of Washington Heights, a predominantly Dominican neighborhood in New York City.
I was raised in Washington Heights, the men are super macho. So, he deserves a badge of honor for going into the leon’s den. And by the leon’s den I mean that barbershop; it’s right by my old apartment! The men who go there to get a cut are all about being manly, manly men…with a bottle of Brugal in hand.
So kudos to you, Romper Wearing Sir. You’re so courageous, you may be able to take on a pair of Jelly’s.
