8 Behaviors That Scare Him Off When Dating

By  |

I felt Darrell was going to be “the one.” I just knew he would outlast any relationship I ever had. Then, after a few weeks of dating, he went Casper the Ghost on my ass. I didn’t have a clue as to why he bolted or why he blocked my number, Instagram, Facebook AND Twitter.

Later, I discovered that it had everything to do with The Crazy. My crazy behavior had been kicked into overdrive in the worst of ways.

What exactly is “The Crazy” and when do you know when it’s time for you tuck “her” in? Here are a few examples:

You show up announced.

Not only is it creepy, it’s damn near stalkerish. When I dated Darrell, I found myself conveniently “in the neighborhood”more than once. That way I had more opportunities to not only bump into him, but to also stop by (and ultimately scare the shit out of him.) There are many ways to be “unpredictable” with your man. This is NOT one of them!

You cling to him like velcro.

Latching onto him like he is your favorite Michael Kors bag every time he is within a few feet of another woman will make you look possessive and insecure.

You are too overbearing.

Clingy girl

Folding laundry together – YES. Cutting his food and spoon feeding him in front of his friends – NO! He doesn’t want to date his mom.

You call and text… ALOT.

constant texting

There was one night when Darell had told me he was going to the gym and would call me after. When I texted and called him later and didn’t get a hold of him, I called and texted again….and again… and again. After a while my calls went straight to voicemail. My texts went unanswered as I sat outside of the gym with my best friend, waiting to see if he was really there. It was at that moment that I knew Darell had blocked me. Moral of the story? Excessive calling and texting is a big ol’ penalty flag that will land you a one-way ticket to Crazyville. (And no, he wasn’t at the gym like he said – that liar!)

You know every single friend he has on his Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.

Ladies, pick up your phone and disable the app notifications that tell you every time your man posts, comments or updates his status. Now, repeat after me, “I will not stalk him on social media..I will not stalk his friends on social media. Unless one of his friend’s is an ex…a hot ex… a hot and SINGLE ex he is friendly with.”

You start arguments about nothing.

Whenever I got bored with Darell I would pick fights about absolutely nothing. It made me look like I was erratic and unstable. To top it off I would then cry (another sign of crazy). And subject my poor guy to tears, tears, and more tears to then have…

Makeup sex.

Using your sexual prowess to manipulate a man is, well, crazy. One should never use sex as a weapon – at least not without the other person’s knowledge and agreement.

Dating you is one helluva (emotional) rollercoaster.

crazy women snaps

I have always been very in tune with my emotions (it’s a Cancer thing), but I knew I had gone too far with Darell when he ordered me a burger with pickles and ketchup and I nearly had a meltdown. Because you can still taste the pickles even if you take them off! Why didn’t he understand that?!

Moral of that meltdown and my dating story? Keep it classy, not crazy.
