I decided to republish this story because it still resonates. It’s also a great example of the power of manifestation and the amazing things that occur when you believe that healthy, new love will arrive and remain in a new year. I hope this post fills you with joy, faith and so much hope.
2013 was full of changes. Some changes I set in motion, like my move to Los Angeles. Other changes came at me like a mugger, punching me in the gut and stealing a part of me before running away into the night.
Love in 2013 was also chaotic. I began the year in a relationship with Paco. I moved to Los Angeles to be closer to him. We broke up five months later. I was suddenly single in Los Angeles – a city that has as terrible of a dating scene as New York City. Time and again, I heard how difficult it would be to meet someone with “depth” and who isn’t an “actor.”
So you can imagine my fear. I was 35, single and living in Los Angeles. But my career was flourishing. I created opportunities and relished in my newfound mini-celebrity status. Still, love was flailing. I dated a few men and even had a brief booty call, but met no one special. I didn’t feel a connection with any one.
2014 will be different. I know it. I feel it. Yes, I say it every new year, but this time I believe it! I am welcoming new love in the new year. I am not holding back. Here’s how you can do the same. (P.S. It was! It’s all HERE.)
Stop Complaining About Your Past
Complaining about what happened then only brings negative energy to your present. Yes, your ex sucks. Yes, he broke your heart. But why dwell on what you cannot change? We always need time to mourn past loves but you can't harp on it forever. So don't! Photo Credit: Flickr Creative Commons.
