You’ve seen them all – those photos of couples that pop up on your Facebook newsfeed. In some pics, your friends are kissing their significant other. In other photos, they cuddle. And all you want to do is shut down your computer. Or punch your computer if you’re single, bitter or lonely.
Well, whether you’re happy for them because they’re your friends, or their lovey dovey photos make you want to puke, it turns out that promoting your love on Facebook is good for relationships.
Sure, let’s give them more reason to show off their relationship!
The research team conducted three tests among married couples. Individuals were over the age of 18 and on Facebook. Overall, couples who used a couple’s photo as a profile picture were reportedly happier in their marriage. Other results concluded that couples who posted a photo with their significant other within the past year were happier. And here’s the kicker: couples who post sweet messages, videos and Facebook love notes on their Facebook walls are even happier!
