How Romantic! 6 of the Most Creative Wedding Proposals
When I think of how Boo will propose I imagine he will put great thought into our memorable moment. He’s extremely thoughtful, surprising me here and there with weekend plans, a bouquet of flowers or a sweet treat. He remembers that I love Nutella, that lilies are my favorite and how much I appreciate it when he washes the dishes. So, yes, when he gets down on one knee, it will be special and tear-inducing. And not just because I can’t wait to be his wife.
Other men have also found creative ways to propose to their significant others. Here are their stories in all their romantic glory:
The White House
When U.S Marine Michael Phelps decided to propose to his partner, Ben Shock, he went patriotic and nostalgic. He proposed at the White House as their first date was at the White House’s LGBT Pride Month Reception. They also made history, becoming the first same-sex couple to get engaged in a US President’s casa.
What do you get when a man records himself on video proposing to his girl every day for a year? A great collection of footage to use for a proposal on YouTube. That’s how Dean Smith proposed to Jennifer Kessel in 2015.
Adam King went musical during his proposal. He proposed to then girlfriend, Lucy Rogers, on a train in England where commuters (a choir in disguise) began to sing, “Lovely Day,” by Bill Wither. Adam soon appeared and popped the question.
A Flying Drone
You have to spend a pretty penny on this proposal! Then again, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi wouldn’t expect anything less. On her 36th birthday, her now fiancé proposed by sending her a diamond ring in a white drone. How techy!
The Art of the Dance
A choreographed dance routine proposal takes time, and time is what Isaac Lamb invested. He gathered his friends and family, practiced and popped the question while shimmying to Bruno Mars’ “Marry You.”
The Crossword Puzzle
A romantic wordsmith, Matthew Dick, proposed to his gal, Delyth Hughes via crossword puzzle. Can you guess the clue to get the ring, woman? She surely did.
