Giveaway: The New Latina’s Bible by Sandra Guzman (WINNER CHOSEN)

The New Latinas Bible Sandra Guzman

UPDATE: The winner of this giveaway has been chosen! Congrats to Kiki Lightbourn from NY! I hope this book shines some light on how we, as modern Latinas, can overcome it all!

As stated in my earlier review, The New Latina’s Bible is an amazing book that encourages modern Latina’s to be ourselves and shed the limitations imposed on us by society and, many times, our familias. The chapters cover it all, including spirituality, dating, dealing with ‘el que diran’ and disapproving mommas. It is the perfect guide for the modern Latina!

  1. I’m a modern Latina because I embrace my culture without it defining me. I try to life a life of awareness and fulfill my life’s purpose. Engaging in social entrepreneurship and social media (modern), speaking Spanish and dancing salsa (Latina). I’m a blend, a unique mix of my countries and the Latino diaspora we have in this country, with a splash of fierce female power. The modern Latina doesn’t fit into any box- she creates her own identity.

I’m a modern Latina because I’m proud, confident and don’t tolerate BS from no one !!!!

I didn’t know much about my heritage when I was growing up. Now I make an effort to learn about it- through learning to speak fluent Spanish, hanging over the shoulder of a great Puerto Rican cook, and reading news articles pertaining to my family’s hometowns. Choosing the Latina life- not just because its in my blood but because its awesome- makes me a modern Latina!

  4. I am a modern latina because I am enriched with my culture and sassy enough to wear it proudly on my sleeve!

I am a modern Latina because I honor my cultural background, but I make the rules about who I am. I cherish my family, but I say what goes in my life. I value my education, but I know it’s only a part of the whole picture.

  18. Kiki Lightbourn says:

I think I am modern Latina because I work full time, am involved with social media in my strive to reach out to others and promote social justice and self-love. I am black and latina and I used my backgrounds to teach others how to love themselves and their culture!

Modern Latina: Family, education and hard work is what I’m all about. Plus, even on my busiest of days, I can still make a slamming plate of arroz con pollo.

  22. I think I’m a modern latina because I work full time, go to school part time and have a family. I still come home and cook dinner (well, sometimes) and I do the cleaning and everything else. I dont’ believe in taking no for an answer and I refuse to limit myself. I want it all!

  23. LatnCooknDiva says:

I believe I am a modern latina due to the fact that I am raising my lil diva to love her Latin heritage, I teach her how to communicate in our 1st language spanish – other than this I have made it a point to handle my small catering company around the idea of cooking Latin foods – showing other what are culture is about!

I am a modern latina… and proud of it!!
