WINNERS ANNOUNCED! #SecretoProfesional: El Negocio Giveaway

WINNERS ANNOUNCED! See below.

Recently, I was asked an unexpected question: what is more important to you? Having a relationship or having a career? Usually, I am quick-witted and can answer anything with sass and humor, even when it shocks me at my core. Instead, I blinked even more than I normally do and said nothing.

The thing is I love my career. I have worked hard to become the Host of LOVE Sujeiry on American Latino Radio on SiriusXM, the owner of LoveSujeiry.com, and the host of “Ask Sujeiry,” my love, dating and sex advice web series on Latina.com. I have stayed up late nights, cried, laughed, rejoiced and cried some more because I love what I do. I wouldn’t be able to do anything else no matter what I have endured and how many times I’ve wanted to give up.

I also love Boo. I love being his mujer, catering to him and being a much softer and vulnerable Sujeiry. I want to build a family with him and be the best mom and wife that I can be. But, can I? Can I have it all? How do women balance work and life happily? I don’t want to choose. I refuse to choose. I will not answer that question. Instead, I will continue working, pushing and loving what I do and whom I love like I always have. How? It’s my #SecretoProfesional: tenacity.

Being tenacious allows me to move forward even when my path is unsure. It has taught me patience. It keeps me grounded and has helped me build a strong foundation personally and professionally.

What is your #SecretoProfesional? I asked a few women and one classy mujer said these profound words:

As Oprah says, you can have it all, just not all at once. Showing myself some grace in the face of that truth is paramount (right now, my blog’s redesign is up but my laundry is not folded and my office area is in disarray). Beyond that, staying organized (with my planner, of course), having an AMAZING tribe of women who lift one another up and who can check me when my priorities get messed up and remembering my purpose in life go a long way in the juggling of all things in my universe. – Sili, Orlando, Owner of MyMamiHood.com.

Yes, it is about staying organized and having a group of fab women to support and inspire you always and all ways. And that’s what the ladies of HBO’s “El Negocio” do for each other. Karin, Migali and Luna are three business women who have hectic lives yet strive to live fabulously. It’s a must watch. Luckily, season 2 premieres on Thursday, July 10th on HBO Latino at 10pm EST.

But wait, there’s more! To celebrate women who work hard for the money and all the work we do personally as well, I am giving away a DVD box set of the first season of “El Negocio” along with a $20 gift card! To enter, tell me: what is your #Secreto Profesional? Comment below. You can also enter in various ways to get more opportunities to win! Just see the details below.

I look forward to reading all of your comments so we can inspire each other to be the best version of ourselvess. Que vivan las mujeres!

I’m uncomfortable with the question. Why should you choose? And am I crazy, but it always seems like these questions are exclusively for women. These are two crucial things in most people’s lives. It’s like asking someone to choose which kid you love more.
