We Can’t Be Friends If You’re Not Watching ‘Lovesick’
I repeat: we can’t be friends if you’re not watching Lovesick on Netflix. That’s because Lovesick is one of the most relatable shows to date on the topics of dating, love and sex – and I love all things love.
The first episode is set in an STD clinic in London. Dylan, the main character, has chlamydia and has to contact his past sexual partners to break the news. Can you imagine getting that call?
HIM: So I was tested…
ME: I WILL CUT YOU!
If that isn’t a authentic depiction of single life, then take away my Netflix subscription.
Dylan takes viewers down relationship memory lane. On each episode, we meet a new woman that he has dated and bedded. In 30 minutes, we see the beginning and ultimate end of each love/lust story, and Dylan telling them they need to get tested. It’s hilarious yet poignant as Dylan is a romantic at heart who really wants to find love, yet is stumbling through the journey like most singles.
So go to Netflix and watch the first season of Lovesick before the season 2 premiere on November 17th. Catch up and tell me what you think. I’ll be watching so we we can discuss Dylan’s itchy situation…and then some.
