Love Bytes: At Home Work Out with Baby
While pregnant, I was terrified that I’d gain tons of weight in all the wrong places. I’m Latina, after all. What if my hips spread far too wide? With a small chest and long, lanky arms, I may look lopsided! What if my gut dropped and circled my waist from front to back like a tire? I already have Dominican chichos! And then there’s my nose. Would it plump up like Sneezy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? My long face and peanut-sided head can’t handle all that girth!
So, yeah. I was freaking out.
Luckily, I only gained 30 pounds, and it was all baby and water weight. I did experience a few weeks of major swelling, mostly my extremities (if I had a penis, that would have also blown up). Still, like most moms I had some lbs to lose after giving birth. Thing is I hate the gym; I hate working out; and I had a c-section which meant for weeks I couldn’t lift anything heavier than my baby, or even bend down or climb stairs.
