How to Get the Best Skin for Your Wedding Day
On Christmas Day, Boo popped the question in the sweetest way – with a “letter” from my baby boy in the womb and a t-shirt that asked me to be his wife. After sobbing loudly and saying,”Yes!” (and admiring my beautiful halo engagement ring) I thought, I need to start planning! Only I have a baby boy on the way and I rather not walk down the aisle pregnant. I want to feel my best and look my best – and drink from my wedding’s open bar!
What I can do is prep my skin so it glows under the warm Caribbean sun (a destination wedding is in the cards). If you’re also getting married, here’s some beauty advice to have the best skin on your wedding day.
Reduce wrinkles and signs of aging.
I’m going to use the Rodan and Fields Redefine. It reduces the appearance of premature aging, including brown spots, dullness and discoloration; and brightens and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is what my skin looks like now.

Do you see those dark circles? I’ve always had dark circles but they are darkening. Do you see the lines underneath my eyes? Eeeek! I’m getting old, yo. And I hate it! Let’s not forget the sleep deprivation (pregnant insomnia is real!) and work stress. And I know my skin will continue to suffer once the baby is born and I begin wedding planning. So, I’m starting the Rodan and Fields Redefine regimen today and purchasing the under eye skin correction cream. I’m optimistic that I’ll see results because many women have. Here’s a before and after photo from one woman who used the products:
Drinks lots of water.
Up your water intake to eight glasses a day. I know, it seems like a lot! I surely have a difficult time drinking as much water as I should now that I’m pregnant. I evacuate all that I drink after just five minutes. Not into water? Eat watermelon, grapefruit and other fruits that contain tons of H2O.
If you haven’t been able to keep up with a skin regimen, or struggle with beauty routines, skip straight to exfoliating with the REDEFINE MACRO Exfoliator™. You just need to use it once a week to see results. The hand-held exfoliation tool sweeps away dead skin cells leaving behind smoother skin. You’re complexion will even out and your skin will glow. I’m investing in the REDEFINE MACRO Exfoliator™ so my skin glows on my wedding day like I have J.Lo’s makeup team on speed dial.
Start a skin care routine before your wedding.
No matter what products you use it can take up to a year to see positive skin care results. So start a skin care routine as soon as you say, “Yes!” to your fiancé. Don’t have enough time from proposal to wedding day? Check out the Rodan and Fields regimens. You will see results in a few months!
Mosturize with SPF.
No one ever taught me about skincare. So I was late in the game when it came to moisturizing. I thought, why should I apply lotion on my face when my skin becomes oily throughout the day? I also didn’t think that I needed to apply SPF every day because I have melanin. Well, I was wrong on both accounts. Moisturizing is proven to improve skin and reduce aging. SPF helps protect skin from the daily sun that causes skin discoloration, wrinkles and skin cancer. So if you don’t already, start mosturizing STAT! And please, use SPF daily. A great product is the REVERSE Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ Sunscreen, which provides prolonged protection and ensures that the REVERSE Regimen has every opportunity to reverse the signs of past damage and brighten dull skin – thanks to the Vitamin E, green tea, licorice extract and mulberry ingredients that are in this sunscreen. This way you’ll be able to have fun in the sun on your wedding day, and look your best in your white dress and fab skin – just in time to say “I do.”
